I don't really have a favorite poem per se, but this is my favorite song:

"The Change" sung by Garth Brooks

One hand
Reaches out
And pulls a lost soul from harm
While a thousand more
Go unspoken for
They say what good have you done
By saving just this one
It's like whispering a prayer
In the fury of the storm

And I hear them saying you'll never change things
And no matter what you do it's still the same thing
But it's not the world that I am changing
I do this so this world will know
That it will not change me

This heart
Still believes
That love and mercy still exist
While all the hatreds rage and so many say
That love is all but pointless in madness such as this
It's like trying to stop the fire
With the moisture from a kiss

As long as one heart still holds on
Then hope is never really gone

I hear them saying you'll never change things
And no matter what you do it's still the same thing
But it's not the world that I am changing
I do this so this world we know
Never changes me

What I do is so
This world will know
That is will not change me

I've been trying to cut down my grocery bill, so in a lot of instances I'm trying the cheap brands.  I started buying korger chicken broth and finally got the chance to open a can today.  I opened it and saw little white flecks of what looked like mold on the surface...then the smell hit me and I about lost my stomach.  I looked at the expiration date and it was late 09.  Ok...maybe it was just a flunk and I opened another one...and another one...and another one until I had five out of seven opened.  All had some white in it to greater or lesser extent and they all smelled horrible.

I dumped all of them out into the sink except one.  That last one I put into a pyrex in case the people at the store didn't believe me that it was bad, loaded up all the cans empty and full, got my kids dressed, drove through the rain (and it was uphill both ways ;)  )  and got to the grocery store.  They looked confused that it was bad, but didn't take up my offer to open the pyrex, refunded my money and I went back to swanson's broth.

It kinda makes me wonder if kroger broth just smells like that normally, or if they are suddenly going to get a lot of people demanding their money back.  It didn't look like they were going to investigate the rest of the broth or anything cause they just threw the lot I brought in away.

*Shudder...I think I need to go scrub my kitchen now

Had a HR guy call from Morenci to find out when I'm available for an interview.  He should call back  Monday or Tuesday to give me an exact day and time, but it should be around the 10th.  YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to let people know that we are seriously considering selling our house (for around $175000). It's the fast way to pay off all our debt and hopefully put us closer in town to Brian's work and Eugene's school.  We're going to spend the next few weeks trying to get stuff fixed and cleaned up, then we'll decide for sure and either try and sell it ourselves or talk to Coldwell Banker.

We've found a house that we think we would like to have on Fitch street (asking 122,500, but realtor said could probably talk down).  The electricity needs to be redone and the back needs to be finished fenced in, but it's pretty nice for the price range and the age (50+ years).

So if anyone knows someone that wants to buy a house in Socorro...please point them our way :)

Eugene started preschool today.  I'm not sure how I feel.  Anna went down for a nap right after we got back, so it's morning and I'm sitting in quiet.  When I leaving I asked for a kiss. He gave me one, said love you then went back to playing.  I really didn't expect to be slightly teary eyed, but I am.

Don (the main teacher), had him do a couple things like hang up his backpack and put his name card on a hook.  The entire time Eugene had his "dirty look" on his face, but he did what he was told and didn't throw a fit, so I'm happy.  Hopefully he likes it and has fun.  Also, hopefully, everyone else likes him and he doesn't get into trouble too much.
